  3. Congratulations on your success sweet neice! I just heard about your contract with a publishing company. I just knew it the first time I saw a drawing that you had done that was hanging on a wall in your parent's home that you had extraordinary talent. I think you know the one I mean. It was of a little girl (and I think you used one of your little neices as a model), looking through a fish bowl). I thought at the time, "What if she could sell postcards or prints of this in a place like a children's museum, an aquarium,or even Sea World if she had the picture with a little girl/boy looking through a fish/shark tank?" Honest to goodness it thrills me beyond words to see you so successful. So happy for you Ginny girl!!!!!

    1. I definitely know which drawing you mean. It's a girl looking into a shark aquarium. I did use my niece as a model. Good memory! Thank you Aunt Susan, for being so excited about all this! :) Sometimes I feel like you're even more excited than I am! That's what awesome aunts are for. They make me feel awesome all the time. You're the best! Thank you!

  5. I like them all but I laugh at the elephant on the ladder, Santa on the reindeer, the deer looking at the apple, the lion waking from bed. I really like the very tender one of the little girl kissing the old man on the nose. It kind of reminds me of you, your love has always been unconditional. You love everyone and everyone loves you (at least that's how I see it). I also like the girl singing and playing the guitar--also reminds me of you (you took guitar in high school). I love looking at all of your work but most of all, I LOVE YOU! As the poem I taught you when you were very small says, you're your "DADDY'S LITTLE SWEETHEART" and you always will be!

  7. My favourite is "Trick or Treat" (has me reaching for the biscuits), followed closely by the girl kissing her Grandpa's nose. There is a photo in our family of my grandpa cradling my elder sister's face in his hands, and they're beaming at each other...when she was in her mid 20's.

Wonderful work, Ginny. If you can match the quality of your drawing with the quality of your stories there'll be some great books ahead from you. I'll be watching out for your name!

  10. Ginny Tilby is super- talented! Her sketching is very advanced, her figure work - strong and confident, relaxed bold line work, which only someone who is a 'natural' has a feel for. She knows how to draw, and shade, and colour from the other things I've seen too. - and she has a great knack of filling her characters with life and humour. She can do anything! I don't know why but Pixar keeps coming to mind, like I can imagine her doing character studies for cartoons?

I also love the rabbit getting outrun by the tortoises......sometimes that is life. I really love the Trick-or-treat one because I LOVE Halloween. Superb drawings, little sister.....keep it up. I always LOVE to look at your drawings because there is so much detail to see and observe........... ;)
